Sophie Havard Duclos is a specialist of intellectual property litigation (trademarks, patents, designs, copyright, domain names, unfair competition and unfair business practices). She also has developed a solid experience in the Internet and data protection sectors.

In addition, she provides her clients with strategic advice for protecting their intellectual property rights and the licensing and exploitation rights thereof.

Member of the Paris Bar since 1995, Sophie Havard Duclos holds a DESS degree in Intellectual Property Law and a DEA degree in business and economic law from the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas. She also has an LL.M degree in intellectual property from the University of Kent. She holds of a specialization certificate in Intellectual Property issued by the Paris Bar.

Before joining Laude Esquier Champey, Sophie Havard Duclos was the head of the IP/IT department of the Paris office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for three years. Prior to this, she was a member of the IP department at Gide Loyrette Nouel and a member of Cabinet Escande.

Sophie Havard Duclos is a member of APRAM’ (Association des Praticiens du Droit des Marques et des Modèles), of the AIPPI (Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle), of INTA (The International Trademark Association) and of the AAPI (Association des Avocats de Protection Industrielle).

She is an associate professor in the DJCE program at the University of Montpellier (IP specialization certificate) and she lectures on trademark issues at the CNPCI (French Institute of Industrial Property Attorneys).

As counsel, we advise on the negotiation and the drafting of contracts pertaining to intellectual property rights (license agreements, assignment, coexistence, etc.) as well as on the availability of trademarks or tradenames for new products and services.
